The Fund is managed by a team of portfolio managers at Boston Partners, a part of Robeco Investment Management, Inc., the Fund's subadvisor, under the supervision of John Hancock Advisers, LLC. Boston Partners is a premier institutional money manager which specializes in traditional value investing. The Fund's management team includes Steven L. Pollack, CFA and Joseph F. Feeney, Jr., CFA.
Steven L. Pollack, CFA
Steven Pollack has been a portfolio manager of the Disciplined Value Mid Cap Fund since 2001. He is also a member of the Boston Partners Equity Strategy Committee. Mr. Pollack joined the firm from Hughes Investments where he spent twelve years as an equity portfolio manager, managing value equity across the market capitalization spectrum. He also oversaw the outside investment managers who manage assets for Hughes’ pension plan. He began his career at Hughes as an Investment Analyst where he spent four years covering a variety of industries and sectors. Prior to that, he was with Remington, Inc., and Arthur Anderson & Co. Mr. Pollack is a graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology and holds an M.B.A. from The Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Joseph F. Feeney, Jr., CFA
Jay Feeney is an equity portfolio manager with Boston Partners and is a member of the Boston Partners Management Committee and Equity Strategy Committee. He also serves as chief executive officer and chief investment officer of Boston Partners. He is responsible for strategic and tactical operating decisions affecting the firm and for overseeing all aspects of equity management. Jay joined Boston Partners in 1995 from Putnam Investments, where he managed mortgage-backed securities portfolios. From 1985 to 1991, he was a commercial loan officer for the Bank of Boston, specializing in transportation, industrial, and highly leveraged loan portfolios. Jay received a B.S. in Finance from the University of New Hampshire and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a past president of the Fixed Income Management Society of Boston.
